Costa Rica 🇨🇷 March 14 Update Where are the Tourists? La Fortuna 🌋 Travel 🛫 Visit 🏖 Vacation

#visitCostaRica #vacationinCostaRica #tourism ‘Costa Rica 🇨🇷 March 14 Update Where are the Tourists? La Fortuna 🌋 Travel 🛫 Visit 🏖 Vacation’ My first walk-thru La Fortuna Costa Rica was on Dec. 18th. I wanted to see if there’s was even the slightest of a rebound in tourism in Costa Rica while the earth was in the middle of mending from Covid. During the filming of that video, ‘Costa Rica 🇨🇷 Dec 19 Update Is Tourism on the Rebound? La Fortuna 🌋 Travel 🛫 Visit 🏖 Vacation’, I realized there wasn’t. It was devasting to see our little tourist town of La Fortuna void of tourists. Restaurants mostly empty. Bars if not empty, couldn’t get anything going because once they did, they had to close at 10:00. Major hotels using a skelton crew to stay alive. NOT GOOD then. So now, in March, with Covid slowly, slowing down would there be any improvement in regards to tourism in Costa Rica. La Fortuna is a good indicator of what’s going on in the tourism sector in the rest of Costa Rica. *You should know, HIGH SEASON is from the end of November until early April, so technically we should be seeing a huge influx of tourists still. So did I during my yesterday (March 13th) walk-thru? Check out this video, ‘Costa Rica 🇨🇷 March 14 Update Where are the Tourists? La Fortuna 🌋 Travel 🛫 Visit 🏖 Vacation’ to see what’s up with the tourists.

This actually is a great time to visit Costa Rica … Since there’s been few visitors these past 12 months, nature has been doing its thing and the animals are out and about and the flora is as beautiful and as lush as ever. Usually January, February and March, Costa Rica would be packed with tourists and we do expect to see a rise in visitors as the year goes on, if the Covid doesn’t rear it’s ugly head again. But lets be real, there will NOT be as many this year, so again, a perfect time to travel to Costa Rica.

These are the requirements to enter Costa Rica as of today, March 14th:

1. Electronic epidemilogical Health Pass form can be found here- https://salud.go.cr/ *Complete this form in the 48 hours before arriving in Costa Rica. This form produces a QR code that you will be asked to show upon arrival. **Be AWARE- Some airlines may ask for this at check-in.

2. Travel Insurance must meet these requirements and if you use an international policy you must present a letter stating:

-Guaranteed coverage of medical expenses in the event of becoming ill with COVID-19 while in Costa Rica, for at least $50,000 USD.
-Minimum coverage of $2,000 USD for lodging expenses issued as a result of the pandemic. **if you won a house in Costa Rica, just show proof and you will not have to buy the lodging expense coverage.
-Validity of the policy throughout the planned stay in Costa Rica.

**Costa Rica’s travel insurance policies tend to be on the pricier side, you can get cheaper, don’t use the CR insurance if you don’t have to.

👉Trawick International is an international policy that offers affordable prices that meet Costa Rica’s entry requirments. You can find them here- https://www.trawickinternational.com/ 👈

*Although I heard about these guys months ago, I have ZERO affiliation with them, so I can’t answer anything. Do your homework. If you want to make sure YOUR international policy meets Costa Rica’s requirements, go here and ask them- seguros@ict.go.cr

3. Proof (airline ticket) that you are leaving Costa Rica within 90 days. NOTE: Tourist visas are typically good for 90 days but be sure your insurance policy matches the amount of days you want to stay in Costa Rica. *If you purchase a policy that only covers you for 10 days, you will not get stamped for 90 (they know this manipulation, don’t try it.)
