Costa Rica for Nature Lovers



Diary of an individual Costa Rica trip by rental car in 16 days. Focused on less crowded, less ‘touristy’ wildlife and rainforest destinations.
Started in Santo Domingo, San Jose visited Cerro Dantas cloud forest, then Tortugero National Park via La Pavona Rio Suerte, getting south caribbean coast to Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, visiting Cahuita National Park and Gandoca Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge, to the Costa Rica central southern mountains via Panamerican Highway to San Gerardo de Dota to see quetzals in the cloud forest, via Cerro de la Muerte to Sierpe Mangroves at south pacific, then close to Carate and Corcovado National Park via Puerto Jiménez Osa Peninsula, back via central pacific Matapalo close to Manuel Antonio NP to San Jose.
