As part of the activities of the Panorama of Aging and Long-term Care in World Alzheimer’s Month, Paola Barbarino has been invited to deep into the topic of dementia in the region in the webinar entitled “Let’s talk about dementia in Latin America and the Caribbean”. The event was held on September 25 at 10:00 AM (EST).
Paola Barbarino provided a global perspective on dementia, with a specific focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. During her presentation, she gave an introduction to dementia and how it is positioned within policies related to mental health and non-communicable diseases. She described the role of Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) in addressing the global dementia pandemic and, in particular, the organization’s response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
