Psychedelics and Epigenetics, Dr. Joe Tafur and Dr. Rael Cahn talk to Dave and Jonathan from TYPM.

In this talk, Dr. Joe Tafur from Modern Spirit and Dr. Rael Cahn, Director of the University of Southern California Center for Mindfulness Science share with Jonathan and Dave their latest research on Epigenetics and Psychedelics. How does MDMA assisted therapy affects the Epigenetics of your body?

Their current research is looking to discover underlying Epigenetics mechanisms expressed during psychedelic assisted therapy with individuals suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), in this case MDMA assisted therapy.

Epigenetics is the study of heritable changes in gene expression (active versus inactive genes) that do not involve changes to the underlying DNA sequence — a change in phenotype without a change in genotype — which in turn affects how cells read the genes.
